Hansen was doing exactly what he was born to do: protecting his sheep.
Alone with two sheep near a truck stop along a busy Idaho highway, Hansen faithfully stood guard on a cliff above the Snake River Canyon. He endured the changing seasons, never leaving the sheep he was born to protect.
When the people at the truck stop called Unega Mountain Dog Rescue for help, rescuers faced a challenge. Earning the trust of this fiercely devoted guardian would take months of patience, persistence, and kindness.
Based on a remarkable true story, Hansen the Truck Stop Dog is a beautifully illustrated tale of loyalty, compassion, and the extraordinary power of trust.
Written by Wendy Drasdo and illustrated by Annie Gallup.
